The man charged over a "joy riding" incident in which a woman was critically injured has escaped from custody.

The man charged over a "joy riding" incident in which a woman was critically injured has escaped from custody.

The man was due to appear in court this morning in connection with the collision on Saturday which is believed to have involved a stolen car.

A 21-year-old woman remains critical at Limerick Regional Hospital.

Another female passenger is in a stable condition.
