Model Jordan today admitted she was “besotted” with fellow I’m A Celebrity... star Peter Andre and said she “can’t wait” to see him for the first time since they returned from the Australian jungle.
The pair’s blossoming romance gripped millions of viewers on the ITV reality smash hit and the tabloid frenzy has continued unabated since the show’s finale last week.
Jordan, real name Katie Price, today denied rumours she had spent time with the Aussie pop singer over Valentine’s weekend, but said they had been in contact and were planning to meet soon.
Speaking on ITV1’s GMTV, she said: “You shouldn’t believe what you read, you should know that by now. You can hear it from the horse’s mouth. I have spoken with him and we are going to meet up.
“I haven’t seen him yet but hopefully I will do soon. But, you know, all good things come to those who wait.”
Jordan said she had “held back” in the jungle out of respect for her then boyfriend Scott Sullivan, but said that relationship had now been settled.
“My mind’s made up. He’s a lovely guy but I’m besotted with Pete, unfortunately.
“I’ll admit I’ve never felt like this about anyone – I am so into him.”
Asked whether she had missed her 19-month-old son Harvey during her two weeks in the the wilderness, Jordan said: “It was awful, but I knew I might not see him for two weeks so it wasn’t a problem – even though it was.”
Of Andre’s relationship with Harvey, she added: “He’s met Harvey in Australia, but I haven’t had that much detail yet.
“Until we meet up and, you know... I can’t wait. Maybe love is in the air - who knows.”
Jordan, 25, said her time in the jungle had been “a good experience” and insisted she had got on with everyone – with one notable exception.
Punk hero John Lydon, better known as Johnny Rotten, branded her a “blow-up balloon” during the series, but today Jordan hit back.
She said: “I can normally judge if someone likes me or not and I got the feeling he didn’t so I stayed away. But every time I went off to do a trial he kissed me and said good luck and he was so two-faced.
“When we all sat there and he said ’I’m going to win over you lot’, I thought to myself ‘I don’t think so’. It’s a family show, you’re vile, you spit, you swear, you’re disgusting.
“He’s just not a man – a man would come up to your face if he had a problem. He’s just vile, not even funny. I think he’s awful.”
Asked what she might do next, Jordan said a record contract was “in the pipeline, even though I’ve been saying that for years“.
“That’s really what I want to do,” she said.
But a duet with Peter Andre?
“Oh that would be well cheesy. I wouldn’t do it.”
