Former Esat boss Denis O'Brien is expected back at the Moriarty Tribunal today to answer questions about an alleged donation to former Communications Minister Michael Lowry.
The tribunal was adjourned abruptly last Friday when O'Brien had to fly unexpectedly to London due to a complication with his wife's pregnancy.
O'Brien is due to be asked about a conversation in 1996 with former Esat chief executive Barry Maloney.
Maloney has told the inquiry that O'Brien told him that he made two payments of £100,000, one to Michael Lowry, the other to an unknown person.
O'Brien denies making such a payments, while Lowry denies receiving it.
The tribunal has also heard that the Esat board met to investigate the exact nature of the conversation in light of the proposed company floatation.
Maloney also says he opposed proceeding with the measure until after the tribunal investigation had taken place.
