Lorcan Fitzgerald has been called into the Republic of Ireland Under-23 squad ahead of Wednesday night’s match against England at the RSC. The Sporting Fingal defender replaces Ian Bermingham of St Patrick’s Athletic, who has been forced to withdraw due to an Achilles injury.
Fitzgerald becomes the second player to be drafted into the Under-23 squad, after Shaun Kelly of Dundalk was called into the squad to replace Karl Sheppard of Galway United.
Fitzgerald’s call-up brings to five the number of Sporting Fingal players included in the Republic of Ireland Under-23 squad for Wednesday’s International Challenge Trophy match against England at the RSC (kick-off 7.30pm).
Tickets are €13 for adults and €4 for Under-16s and are available through Ticketmaster or Alfie Hale’s sport shop, 40-42 Arundel Square, Waterford. Tickets will also be available at the RSC on the night of the match.
