Manchester United captain Roy Keane has joined up with the Irish squad ahead of this Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Switzerland.

The Corkman was expected to miss the game with a double rib fracture, but has recovered from the injury and will be fit to play in Basel. The squad will train in Dublin this morning before it flies out later today.

However, his Old Trafford colleague John O'Shea has been ruled out of the game after a scan revealed that he had suffered a minor thigh muscle injury.
