A 55-year-old man is dead following a road accident in Co Kilkenny.

A 55-year-old man is dead following a road accident in Co Kilkenny.

He was found lying beside his bicycle on the N8, the Dublin-Cork road at Foulkscourt, Johnstown about 11.50pm last night.

A technical examination of the scene is being carried out today, while a post mortem is being conducted at Waterford Regional Hospital.

Meanwhile, the motorcyclist who was killed in a collision between a car and his bike on the Swords road in Dublin on Thursday night has been named.

He was 25-year-old David Flynn from Ashbourne Co Meath.
