Jackie Collins has revealed she stayed away from her sister Joan's wedding to finish a new book.
The best-selling novelist was a high-profile absentee from the Claridge's ceremony when Joan wed Percy Gibson.
Jackie said she could not be at the wedding, which was attended by Roger Moore, Shirley Bassey and Cilla Black, reports said.
"Let's get this straight," she said. "I'm on a deadline for my latest book, Deadly Embrace, and I am chained to my desk."
The millionaire author said she had already celebrated her actress sister's fifth marriage before the ceremony.
"We gathered to celebrate the wedding with a huge Los Angeles party two weeks ago," she said.
