Two men arrested after a shooting in Limerick city on Thursday have been refused bail.
At a special sitting of Limerick District Court, 23-year-old Gary Kirby and 20-year-old Christopher McCarthy were charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
At this evening's special sitting of the District Court, Gardaí alleged that both Mr Kirby of Hyde Road and Mr McCarthy of Delmege Park, Moyross, were involved in the main feud in Limerick.
They alleged that by his own admission Christopher McCarthy was involved in the feud and that Mr Kirby had replied when charged: "Sorry for what I did".
Christopher McCarthy also told the court that he wore a bullet proof vest for his own safety.
Gardaí objected to applications for bail because of the serious nature of the charges against the accused men and because of their alleged involvement in the ongoing feud.
Judge Tom O' Donnell said he was satisfied that further crimes would be committed if bail was granted and remanded the two accused in custody to appear before the same court next week.
