Birmingham owner David Sullivan could leave St Andrews next year in order to buy a London club closer to his home.
The City chairman, who lives in Essex, revealed the commute to the midlands is starting to wear him down and he expressed an interest in making a move on Tottenham or West Ham.
He is already a minor shareholder at Spurs, while he held almost a third of shares at Upton Park before pulling out to buy Birmingham 12 years ago.
“I’ve got fed up with the travelling and it is possible I might try to do a deal with Tottenham or West Ham next season if either club becomes available for sale,” he told the Daily Mail.
“There are no home games for me and it can be depressing to be stuck on the M1 when you are trying to get home to see your children before they go to bed.
“I’m 55 and I’ve only got so many seasons in me, so I would like to have one more challenge at another club nearer to London.
“If there is a willing seller I might look to do a deal, but one day might be next year or 10 years, who knows?
“At the moment I am totally committed to Birmingham. I just wish it was down the road.”
