Nationalists are remaining wary of pipe bomb attacks despite last night's discovery of a loyalist bomb factory in north Belfast.

The RUC have described as "significant" the finding of the bomb-making operation in the loyalist Mount Vernon area of the city.

There have been 50 pipe bomb attacks on Catholic homes across the North since the start of the year.

Martin Morgan of the SDLP, who lives near the scene of the find, said last night that the wave of attacks looks likely to intensify.
