Pedestrian In Critical Condition Following Limerick Collision

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Co Limerick on Monday.

The incident involving a car and a pedestrian occurred on the Ballinacurra Road at approximately 11.20pm.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 20s, was on the pedestrian crossing when he was hit by the car and is now in critical condition in University Hospital Limerick.

A technical examination is now underway at the scene and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or was in the Ballinacurra or Childers Road are between 11.15pm and 11.30pm on Monday to contact Roxboro Garda Station on 061-214340.

A statement from Gardaí said the car involved in the collision has since come to their attention and the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) has been informed.
