Minister for Education Norma Foley is to announce a special 'No Homework Day' for Irish students in recognition of their hard work during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Minster will appear on RTÉ's After School Hub to grant students one day between now and the Christmas holidays when they will have no homework.

The programme will coincide with UNICEF's World Children's Day.

In a clip of tomorrow's show, Ms Foley explains to Seamus the Dog how No Homework Day will work.

"All the students I know have been really good and have been working very hard since they went back to school.

"Their teacher will decide what day the children can use it some day between now and Christmas."

Ms Foley said the children and young people of Ireland have been "fantastic", adding: "We’ve very very proud of them and this is a thank you".

The programme will air on Friday at 3.20pm on RTÉ Two.
