Almost €1 million in cash and drugs have been seized, and a man in his 20s has been arrested in Co Limerick.

As a result of a search warrant at two premises at Pallasgreen on Wednesday, June 10th, gardaí seized suspected diamorphine with an estimated street value of over €659,000, suspected cannabis with an estimated street value of over €114,000, alprazolam tablets with an estimated value of €47,000, as well as over €7,000 of suspected cocaine and 12kg of suspected benzocaine.

Over €117,000 in cash was also seized, along with a vehicle and additional items.

The man who was arrested is detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

All seized drugs will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis, and all items seized will be subject to further technical examination, gardaí said.

The searches were conducted by gardaí attached to the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit, supported by regional units, as part of ongoing operations targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the region.
