A visit to the website Nphet.ie redirects internet browsers to the website of political party Fianna Fáil.

Those seeking a website for Nphet, or the National Public Health Emergency Team, will be automatically redirected to the pages of the Government party website if they access the .ie domain.

Nphet, the body of medical and health service experts advising the Government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, has no website of its own and publishes all content on gov.ie/health.

A spokesperson for Fianna Fáil said that the party was not responsible for the website redirect.

They added that the party had no knowledge of the website redirect until they received a query from Breakingnews.ie.

Fianna Fáil confirmed it had not acquired the domain Nphet.ie.

In response to a query from Breakingnews.ie, the Department of Health said: “Nphet.ie is not a URL associated with Nphet or the Department of Health.

“The National Public Health Emergency Team publishes all content on gov.ie/health.”
