The Army's bomb squad has removed a suspect device in north Dublin.

The alarm was raised at around 11am after the discovery in Glasnevin.

It is understood an ammunition box was found by locals doing a litter pick.

The device was confirmed to be viable and was made safe by members of the Defence Forces.

The ordnance disposal team has now left the scene.
