Van Morrison is to play a series of intimate, socially distanced gigs in Belfast in October.

The Northern Irish musician will play three nights at the Europa Hotel with 184 people permitted to attend in line with public health guidelines in the North.

The concerts will take place on October 29th, 30th and 31st with tickets available on ticketmaster.

Tickets will be sold in pairs, or by tables of eight with prices starting at £150 (€168).

Earlier this week, Morrison celebrated his 75th birthday and is due to play another socially distanced concert with his band at Gosforth Park in Newcastle Upon Tyne tonight.

Despite playing these gigs, Morrison has criticised socially distanced concerts saying they are not economically viable.

He called on people in the music industry to "come forward, stand up, fight the pseudo-science and speak up."

Morrison also claimed that himself and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber "appear to be the only people in the music business trying to get it back up and running again".
