A doctor in England who used hidden equipment to spy on patients has admitted a string of voyeurism, indecency and pornography offences.
World-renowned hearing specialist Dr Lam Hoe Yeoh pleaded guilty at Croydon Crown Court in south London to seven counts of voyeurism, six counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, and one of possessing extreme pornography.
He secretly recorded intimate images of patients, colleagues and visitors using secret cameras he rigged up.
Men, women and children are understood to have been caught in the clips, containing more than 1,000 victims over a three-year period.
The 62-year-old, who is also known by the first name Robin, was arrested at the privately-run St Anthony’s Hospital in North Cheam, south London, in April after an alleged victim contacted police.
All the charges relate to the period January 1, 2011, to April 15 this year.
His wife, Ivy Muihong Sng, 57, also of Garratts Lane, Banstead, had a count of voyeurism against her discontinued and was free to walk from the dock.
One woman in the packed public gallery wiped away tears as Yeoh, wearing a dark suit and a grey shirt, was led into the courtroom.
Several of her supporters gasped as details of count 13 – possessing extreme pornography which appeared to show people performing oral sex on animals – were read out.
Yeoh kept his head bowed throughout the short hearing, and spoke only to confirm his name and to enter his pleas.
Prosecutor Peter Clement said the voyeurism charges included a handful of identifiable victims, as well as 1,084 whose identity was unknown.
The case was adjourned until the afternoon and Yeoh was remanded in custody.
