Russia claims to have destroyed command and supply systems of terrorists in Syria

Moscow claims it has destroyed the combat capability of the main terrorist groups in Syria.

President Vladimir Putin says his recent air strikes have broken up terrorists' command and supply systems.

He also claims Russia is close to exchanging intelligence with Western countries about the positions of Islamist militants.

It is something Moscow has been asking for for weeks, and Putin says it could mean combined military action.

The Russian President has called on the Syrian leadership to establish contact with any opposition forces who are ready to begin talks.
