Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy has accused Irish workers of being too complacent about pensions.
Speaking at an ICTU conference in Dublin, Mr McCreevy said he believed many people in Ireland were putting pensions on the long finger and only investing in them when it was too late.
He also reiterated the Government's commitment to pay 1% of GDP into the National Pension Reserve Fund every year.
