Eurozone leaders have asked Greece's incoming government to approve in writing the terms of a bailout in exchange for the release of fresh bailout funds later this month.

The Euro group president Jean Claude Juncker asked for the letter signed by both parties of the newly-formed coalition government in Greece.

Mr Juncker said the finance ministers of the 17-nation euro area, who have been meeting in Brussels tonight "welcome the intention of Greece to form a national unity government".

Speaking at the end of finance ministers' talks, the EU's Economic Affairs Commissioner Olli Rehn praised politicians in Greece for "restoring the confidence that had been lost."

It is understood the new Greek Prime Minister and cabinet will be announced tomorrow.
