Police investigating the death of a man at the home of entertainer Michael Barrymore said today no decision had been made on whether to re-interview him.

Stuart Lubbock, 31, a butchery worker, died in hospital after being found unconscious in a swimming pool at the star’s mansion in Roydon, Essex, in March.

According to a reports today, the comedian, who is understood to be abroad, faces a further round of questioning over the tragedy later this week.

But in a statement Essex Police said detectives were awaiting the results of toxicology and forensic tests taken from the man’s body before further action is taken.

"The current position in respect of this inquiry is unchanged," a spokesman said.

"Full results from toxicology and forensic tests are still awaited and until they have been received and assessed no decision can be made on the direction the inquiry will take.

"No further statements will be issued on this matter this weekend," he added.

Mr Lubbock joined Barrymore for a party at his home after meeting at the Millennium club in Harlow on March 31.

No date has been set for the inquest into his death.

Barrymore was questioned by police as a matter of routine on the first weekend after the tragedy.
