Conor McGregor on UFC202: 'Boy won the lotto the last time'

With less than a month until the highly-anticipated rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, the American fighter was on Conan O’Brien to promote the event.

And McGregor couldn’t resist the opportunity to wind up his opponent even though he wasn’t even in the studio.

Instead the Dubliner, who has made highly-regarded appearances on the show previously, recorded a video message especially for Diaz.

Video from Team Coco.

Conor being Conor, he couldn’t resist starting with an insult.

"I just hope he's not up on that stage wearing that stupid black t-shirt he's never out of," he said. "The boy's been wearing that same damn t-shirt for the last 20 years or something.

He went on to suggest that Diaz, who won the first fight between the pair in March, would be easily defeated at UFC202 in Las Vegas next month.

"I'm taking this contest very, very seriously. I've flown in specific body types to replicate Nate's skinny, tall frame.

"The boy won the lotto the last time. He knows it, I know it. Well, August 20 I get my revenge and I look forward to it."

Diaz was quick to respond, although he lacks McGregor’s knack for witty insults.

“The truth came out,” he told the host. “And the truth will be on August 20, when it will go down again.”
