Mother and daughter share touching moment after All-Ireland heartbreak

There were, as you’d expect, contrasting emotions for the villages of Johnstownbridge and Scariff/Ogonnelloe after the All-Ireland Junior Camogie Championship final, writes Stephen Barry.

On the Johnstownbridge side there were joyous scenes as the Kildare club collected their second consecutive All-Ireland.

Aoibh Doran (aged 2) was quick to join in the celebrations with her auntie and team captain Jenna Murphy, as captured by Inpho’s Tommy Dickson.

But as Murphy was raising the trophy in the stands at St Brendan’s Park, Birr, Sarah Skelly broke away from her downcast Scariff-Ogonnelloe teammates to have a quiet moment with her daughter, Eleanor.

The contrast between winning and losing a one-point game was beautifully captured by LocalStreaming.club camera operator Anthony Moran.

The voices you hear are match commentator Donn O’Sullivan, presenter Liam Horan and match analyst Eleanor Walsh.
