Sittings of both houses of the Oireachtas resume again this morning with a number of pressing issues requiring the attention of TDs and Senators.

Sittings of both houses of the Oireachtas resume again this morning with a number of pressing issues requiring the attention of TDs and Senators.

The first day will see the resumption of statements in the wake of the atrocities in the US, with politicians mindful of the implications for this country and in particular Aer Lingus.

The recess saw significant job losses and the opposition is sure to seek to draw attention to the continuing economic slowdown and should move health to the top of the agenda ahead of the forthcoming election.

The peace process also remains in crisis and the Taoiseach will move to update the house on efforts to once again get it moving in the right direction.
