Alex Ferguson had only good things to say about Roy Keane when he spoke at the Dublin Chamber of Commerce dinner last night.

But Ferguson made absolutely no reference to anything controversial during his speech and his two brief references to his former captain were entirely positive.
Discussing the players he was dealing with towards the end of his career Ferguson said:
“The players I was getting were more fragile than they had been, than the Robsons and the Keanes.”
He also spoke glowingly of Keane when talking about Man United’s famous Champions League victory in 1999.
“I didn’t have Roy Keane and I didn’t have Paul Scholes,” said Ferguson. “The two best midfield players in Europe.”
