The Green Party has accused the Government of only doing the bare minimum to meet EU targets on renewable energy.

The Green Party has accused the Government of only doing the bare minimum to meet EU targets on renewable energy.

Yesterday, the Minister for Natural Resources Noel Dempsey announced a new system of government supports in an effort to increase the use of energy sources like wind and biomass.

However, Green Party TD Eamon Ryan said the supports would only help meet minimum EU targets rather than utilising the full potential of renewable energy.
