Ennis assault victim dies

A man who was seriously injured in an assault in Co. Clare has died.

A man who was seriously injured in an assault in Co. Clare has died.

Brian Casey sustained serious injuries in the attack which happened near O'Connell Street in the town just before midnight on December 26.

He lost his fight for life this afternoon.

Two men appeared in court earlier today, charged with assault causing harm to him in Ennis on St. Stephen's night.

Twenty-nine-year-old Harry Dinan with an address of 10, Waterpark Heights in Ennis and 22-year-old Kevin Dinan of 3 Clarehill, Clarecastle, were both remanded in custody to appear back in court tomorrow.
