Three men are due in court this morning in relation to the attempted armed robbery of the home of a businessman in east Cork.

Three men are due in court this morning in relation to the attempted armed robbery of the home of a businessman in east Cork.

Gardai were alerted at around 11 o'clock on Sunday night and managed to foil the raid, arresting two men near the property.

Three others were arrested in follow up searches. Two of the five men arrested have been released without charge.

The remaining three are due before Anglesea District Court.
