Bloc Party 'working through' band tensions, frontman Kele says

Bloc Party's Kele Okereke says the band isn't the "easiest thing" in to handle.

The indie rockers returned last year with comeback album 'Four' after going on hiatus in 2009 but - while a new EP 'The Nextwave Sessions' is set for the summer - they'll be breaking again by the end of the year.

The band's front man wouldn't be drawn on revealing why the group were taking time out again, but admitted the quartet struggled with "expressing" their feelings to each other.

He said: "There have been some things going on behind the stages, and now we're working our way through it ... Being in this band isn't always the easiest thing.

"We're four British young men that maybe aren't the best at expressing ourselves or our emotions."

Kele noted the group have varying interests and influences - both within and separate from their music - and explained time away to explore those, and be with their families, is certainly not an "unhealthy" development.

He told The Observer newspaper: "We all have live; we all have families; we all have other interests. It's not unheard of, or unhealthy, for us to go off and do that for year."
