The 4-7 favourite made all of the running under Michael O'Connell to win the Book Raceday Hospitality on 01748 811478 Mares' Novices Hurdle by 18 lengths.

Moore said: "She should have won like she did, but, to be fair, they still have to jump them.

"I don't usually run mares this quick but the race was tempting and it was just down the road.

"I will have a look for something for her at Aintree, it will suit her there and then we will run her on the Flat again and try and win a nice race with her."

Moore has twice won the John Smith's Northumberland Plate and would love to give Bogside Theatre another chance to shine in the Newcastle feature.

He added: "It has been a lucky race for us - we have won it with Highflying and Toldo - while Bogside Theatre was third in it a couple of years ago and Macorville was beaten only a short head three years ago.

"Bogside Theatre is down to 75 from 95 in the ratings on the Flat so we will have to have to have a try with her again."

James Reveley celebrated his 21st birthday in style by completing a 21-1 double on Along the Nile and Star Beat.

Both horses are trained by the jockey's father, Keith Reveley.

The 100-30 chance was dropping into plating company and looked a class above these rivals.

Taking up the running five out, Along The Nile eased away in the straight to pass the post with eight lengths to spare over Tipsy Indian.

Reveley snr, who retained his charge without a bid, said: "In this grade, he was the form horse."

Star Beat, having been considered the stable's best chance of the afternoon, was a convincing four and a half lengths too good for The Brig Of Ayr in the Flat Racing Starts Again On 7th April Novices' Handicap Chase.

Reveley snr added: "Star Beat is a good-ground horse and he has never really had conditions to suit.

"The ground makes all the difference to him and the blinkers just keep him up for it.

"It was been a very good day and it has been nice to have a couple of winners for James."

Chris Grant saddled a winner at Newcastle on Tuesday and was on the mark again when Mardood took the racinguk.com Handicap Hurdle in the hands of Denis O'Regan.

The 7-1 shot, shouldering a 7lb penalty for winning a seller at the course last week, and Boyoboy had it between them from two out.

But the former seemed to be getting the better of the argument on the run-in when he hung right into the rails, causing his rival to switch.

The stewards held an inquiry but with Mardood having passed the post with one and a quarter lengths to spare, the placings were left unaltered.

Grant said: "Our horses are running well in the main and long may it continue.

"It has taken a while for the penny to drop with Mardood but it is starting to now.

"I ran him again quickly after last week because his owner Bill Raw lives locally and it was handy for him."

Mardood may have survived the stewards' inquiry, but O'Regan was suspended three days (March 24-26) for careless riding.

It then looked as though O'Regan was going to complete a double as Kosta Brava jumped the final fence in front in the Alan Mercer 50th Birthday Maiden Chase.

But conditional Fearghal Davis rallied Farne Island (5-1) in great style on the run-in to get up in the last strides and score by a neck.

Trainer Micky Hammond said: "He was probably a bit unlucky when he fell three out here last time so he has deserved this.

"We shouldn't get carried away as it was only a maiden chase which was there for the taking.

"But it was nice for the horse's owner, Joe Buzzeo, who is a great patron of the stable."

Areyacoddinmee came from the clouds to snatch top honours in the John Wade Skip Hire Novices' Hunters' Chase, while Baba O'Curragh won the concluding bumper.
