O'Sullivan prepared for Portugal training camp

As Kerry senior footballers begin a five-day training camp in Portugal, corner-forward Darren O'Sullivan is hoping to maintain the starting berth he has claimed in the recent absence of Colm Cooper and Paul Galvin.

The Kerry squad will make use of the famous Algarve training centre of Browns over the next five days, where they also had a intensive pre-championship training camp last year.

The Glenbeigh-Glencar man has made an impression during Kerry's ultimately unsuccessful National League campaign, and is hoping to shake off the tag of 'impact sub' this summer, starting on June 15th when Kerry take on the winners of Clare and Waterford in their Munster championship opener.

"There's nothing worse than seeing 'impact sub' next to your name", says O'Sullivan, "You're wondering "will I ever get rid of this tag?". If you're not annoyed being a sub you might as well pack your bags and go home. At the moment I have the jersey and it's up to me to hold on to it."
