HSE inquiry to go ahead without cooperation of Praveen Halapanavar

The solicitor representing Praveen Halapanavar has said that any attempt by the HSE inquiry to access the hospital records of his wife will be challenged.

31-year-old Savita Halapanavar died last month, following a miscarriage, after allegedly being refused a medical termination.

The Health Minister James Reilly said that the HSE inquiry into her death will proceed - despite the fact that her husband said he will not co-operate with the investigation.

Praveen Halappanavar said that he has no confidence in the HSE - and is instead calling for a public inquiry into his wife's death.

The HSE this evening announced that three new experts are to join the inquiry team.

Minister Reilly also said that he has requested an interim report into the circumstances of the 31-year-old's death before Christmas:
