Two arrested at Shannon airport

A 20-year-old woman and a man in his forties have been arrested at Shannon airport in connection with the criminal damage of a perimeter fence in the early hours of this morning.

A 20-year-old woman and a man in his forties have been arrested at Shannon airport in connection with damage to a perimeter fence in the early hours of today.

The two anti-war protesters were arrested at 5.30am today after they made their way onto the airfield.

The two are being held at Shannon garda station under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act.

They can be held for six hours and a further six hours extension can be granted if necessary.
