Lee McCulloch has refused to give up hope of playing again this season even though medics have told him he faces six weeks out of action.
The Rangers midfielder, 29, suffered a foot injury early in the midweek Old Firm derby but played on for 70 minutes unaware of the damage caused by Paul Hartley’s tackle.
McCulloch now faces the prospect of missing the final weeks of the campaign, as Rangers chase honours in the UEFA Cup, Clydesdale Bank Premier League and Scottish Cup.
He told the Scottish Sun: “The docs have told me it’s unlikely I’ll play again this season because of the extent of the bone injury.
“There’s an outside chance I might have a shout but I’m told I’ll be out for a minimum of six weeks so it doesn’t look good.
“But I’m not going to give up on it. If there’s even a slim chance I could play before the end of the season I’ll be doing all I can to make that happen.
“I won’t give up.”
