Farmers have reacted this evening to the Taoiseach call for them to re-enter the closing stages of the partnership process.

Farmers have reacted this evening to the Taoiseach call for them to re-enter the closing stages of the partnership process.

Pat O'Rourke of the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association says that the farm income is still an outstanding issue in the talks.

He says that farming groups are prepared to meet the Taoiseach if further talks can progress the situation.

Mr Ahern this afternoon stated that farmers were wrong to walk away from the social partnership talks as they were overlooking the tight relationship between the Government and those already involved.
