FG queries allocation of garda resources in Dublin

Fine Gael is calling for a debate on the effectiveness of the distribution of Gardaí in Dublin suburbs.

Fine Gael is calling for a debate on the effectiveness of the distribution of Gardaí in Dublin suburbs.

The party says that 87% of the growth in crime in the capital is occurring in just four districts - Blanchardstown, Coolock, Tallaght and Santry.

However, these suburbs are receiving fewer than 30% of the total number of extra gardaí allocated to the city.

Fine Gael's Richard Bruton claims residents have a right to know why high crime areas are not getting the resources they need.
