Family Suppart Agency to get €17m

The new Family Support Agency, which formally begins it's work next year, is to have a budget of €17m.

The new Family Support Agency, which formally begins it's work next year, is to have a budget of €17m.

Accodring to Social Affairs Minister Mary Coughlan, the agency will provide a wide range of supports for all aspects of the family, including the expansion of family mediation services - with new centres in the North-West and Waterford.

Minister Coughlan said: "As part of it's functions the agency will have direct responsibility for the continued development of a professional outfit of organisations providing marriage, child and bereavement counselling."
