Posh Spice Victoria Beckham has reaffirmed there is no love lost between her and her husband’s boss Sir Alex Ferguson in a TV interview.

Asked by presenter Jerry Springer who she would save from drowning, the Manchester United boss or former bandmate Geri Halliwell, she said: ‘‘You’ve got me there. Neither.’’

The singer also gave an insight into her world by revealing she occasionally takes public transport - and does not know what a kipper is.

Beckham - married to soccer star David - made her comments while filming the channel 5 Late Night With Jerry Springer show to be broadcast on August 24.

She followed up her comment about Sir Alex and Halliwell by adding: ‘‘I’d just sail off and watch them both drown.’’

However viewers may not see the star make her cutting comment as she also supplied an alternative answer to allow producers to edit out the remark.

‘‘I really am going to regret that,’’ she said ‘‘So I’ll give you an answer so you can edit that one out. I’d save them both.’’

During the Springer interview it emerged that two-year-old son Brooklyn was taking after his mother for her vast collection of shoes.

The singer, who claims to have ‘‘a few hundred’’ pairs, said that the youngster had now amassed ‘‘about 20’’ pairs.

For all her fame, she claimed she had recently roughed it when Springer asked when she had last taken a bus.

‘‘Three days ago. I took Brooklyn from one meeting to another on a bus in five-inch stilettos and a mini skirt,’’ she said.

‘‘I stood. You’ve got to stand on a bus.’’

She said fellow passengers left her alone. ‘‘They probably thought I was one of those lookalikes.’’

Springer also quizzed Posh to see whether she had lost the common touch by inquiring when she had last eaten a kipper, to which she replied: ‘‘What’s a kipper?’’

And asked about the last book she read, Beckham said: ‘‘I don’t read books.’’
