Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones could return to the squad for tomorrow’s Barclays Premier League clash with West Ham after recovering from a virus.
The 23-year-old should be available after missing last Saturday’s victory at Aston Villa and Trinidad and Tobago’s midweek friendly, although international team-mate Carlos Edwards is rated at only 50-50 with a groin problem.
Danny Collins (dead leg) and Nyron Nosworthy (groin) are expected to retain their places in the squad, but Dickson Etuhu (knee) will be missing for several weeks yet.
Provisional squad: Gordon, Fulop, Bardsley, Collins, McShane, Evans, Higginbotham, Harte, Whitehead, Reid, Leadbitter, Edwards, Miller, Richardson, O’Donovan, Jones, Waghorn, Murphy, Stokes, Chopra, Prica.
