The American sandwich franchise Subway has opened its 200th store in Ireland.
The most recent opening at the Monread Centre in Naas marks the milestone for the brand, which employs 809 full-time equivalent employees here.
The company has also announced plans to increase the number of stores by 180 in the next six years.
"Ireland is a great success story for the Subway brand," said Muriel O'Grady, the development agent for the company in Ireland.
"In the midst of the recession we invested and grew our network and it is a great achievement to be opening the 200th Subway store in Ireland."
The UK and Ireland is the sandwich franchise's biggest market outside of its native North America. It estimates it contributes €37.4m to the Irish economy, once their supply chain and employees are taken into account.
