Pilot killed in helicopter crash named

The pilot killed in a helicopter crash in Co Kerry last night has been named locally as 41-year-old David Reid, a father-of-one from Blackhorse Avenue in Dublin.

The pilot killed in a helicopter crash in Co Kerry last night has been named locally as 41-year-old David Reid, a father-of-one from Blackhorse Avenue in Dublin.

Mr Reid died when his aircraft crashed into the side of a mountain in heavy fog near Dingle.

He was on his way to Tralee races at the time to pick up a number of passengers.
