A former Fianna Fáil councillor is to be sentenced today after pleading guilty to soliciting someone to kill a Garda, a Revenue official and an accountant.

A former Fianna Fáil councillor is to be sentenced today after pleading guilty to soliciting someone to kill a Garda, a Revenue official and an accountant.

Thirty-nine-year-old Gary O'Flynn of Hayfield Drive, Whitechurch, Co Cork pleaded guilty in February to the three charges at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.

The charges relate to soliciting a named person to carry out the three murders between October 1 2012 and February 15 2013.

Gary O'Flynn served on Cork City Council from 2003, after replacing his father Noel O'Flynn. He stood down in 2008.
