Navy saves 10 from sinking ship

The Navy has rescued 10 fishermen from a trawler which got into difficulty and sank off the south-west coast this morning.

The Navy has rescued 10 fishermen from a trawler which got into difficulty and sank off the south-west coast this morning.

The LE Eimear arrived at the scene at around 9pm and saw that the Grampian Duke was in trouble.

While officers were evaluating the vessel, it got into further difficulties before capsizing and sinking.

The eight Spaniards and two Afghans on board were taken onto the LE Eimear. There were no reports of any injuries.
