Trinity College elects new provost

Professor John Hegarty has been elected provost of Trinity College in Dublin.

Professor John Hegarty has been elected provost of Trinity College in Dublin.

He will take over from Dr Thomas Mitchell in August, becoming the 43rd provost.

Professor Hegarty, from the Department of Physics and the Dean of Research, was elected by staff and students at the university.
