Moriarty Tribunal to resume public hearings today
The Moriarty Tribunal is due to reopen its public hearings today into the relationship between politician Michael Lowry and businessman Denis O'Brien.
English solicitor Christopher Vaughan is due to give evidence this morning in relation to UK property deals in the 1990s which have been linked to the two men.
The tribunal concluded its sittings some time ago, but is reopening the hearings to hear testimony from Mr Vaughan, who previously refused to appear.
The tribunal is investigating links between Mr O'Brien and Mr Lowry as part of its inquiry into the awarding of Ireland's second mobile phone to ESAT Digifone.
The company was owned by Mr O'Brien and Mr Lowry was Minister for Communications at the time.
