Draw takes Galway off top of the league

Galway United 0 Sligo Rovers 0

Galway United 0 Sligo Rovers 0

Both sides finished with ten men as Galway lost the leadership of the Premier Division after they failed to break down Sligo at Terryland Park.

Galway midfielder Michael McGrath had the only real chance of note in the whole game when his long-range drive was brilliantly tipped over the bar by Rovers' keeper Richard Bbrush on 18 minutes.

Sadly, the highlights of the second half were red cards with Sligo defender Danny Ventre the first to go with a straight dismissal for pulling down Vinny Faherty on 66 minutes.

Galway substitute Declan Edwards followed him off for a second yellow card offence in the final minute.
