The Equality Authority and the Irish Medical Organisation have been looking at ways of creating an equality-driven health service for all sectors of society.

The two groups are discussing ways of removing what they call "barriers in the health service".

President of the IMO Dr James Reilly says people should pay special attention to this area of inequality, which involves discrimination against people on grounds of race, religion, or sexual orientation.
