Grammy-nominated singer Chris Brown turned himself in to authorities investigating an alleged assault involving the R&B artist, police said today.
Los Angeles police officer Karen Smith said Brown had walked into a police station early today and was being interviewed by detectives. She said he was not in custody.
Police say the 19-year-old singer and a woman were in a vehicle in the Hancock Park neighbourhood early yesterday when they began arguing and the argument escalated when they got out of the car.
Police say the woman identified Brown as her attacker, but he was gone by the time officers arrived.
Both Brown and his girlfriend, fellow singer Rihanna, died not turn up for the Grammy Awards. Both were nominated and scheduled to perform.
