Laois senior hurling manager Niall Rigney has been boosted with the news that John Joe McHugh has made a full return to fitness, and will be available for selection for his sides Leinster SHC quarter-final against Dublin on Sunday at Nowlan Park (3.30pm).
The O'Moore's attacker missed all of Laois's National Hurling league campaign due to a knee injury, however he has made a quicker than expected return to fitness.
McHugh has made rapid progress and recently featured for his club Ballyfin in the Laois club leagues.
Despite good news for McHugh, the game comes too soon for Kilcotton's Brian Stapleton who is still ruled out with a knee injury.
Stapleton had minor surgery on his knee at the end of Laois's league campaign, but his recovery time has been extended and he has yet to return to training.
Forward Eoin Costello who picked up a straight red card in second half injury-time of his side's victory over Carlow in the last round, will also miss out.
