Independent TD Noel Grealish is planning to meet the Taoiseach Brian Cowen and the Minister for Health Mary Harney after claiming it is time for a General Election.

The former Progressive Democrat TD has threatened to withdraw support for the Government over cuts to health services in the West.

Deputy Grealish told the Connacht Tribune Newspaper that the amount of money being pumped into Anglo Irish Bank is "intolerable when the health system is on its knees, and it is time for a new Government".
